8A – Solving The Problem
The problem I'd detailed in my last post was the problem that moving can be quite a hassle when it comes to moving furniture. For instance, dressers, couches, bookcases, and beds are the worst, usually taking a lot of disassembly to even begin to move. Because of this, there is an opportunity to solve this problem in a lucrative way. I'd mentioned it in my last post, but my idea is to create a line of furniture all about easy movement; both in moving from one home to another to simply moving from one room to another. After a long, initial design period, the product shouldn't be difficult to make and will easily ship, as the idea implies. Not only will the product solve the problem of people's moving difficulties, but it will also be easily stored and shipped when purchased; this cuts out the necessity for a furniture store. The ability to fold down for easy movement also means that the pieces can come already assembled and ready for use. In summary, this is a line of furniture that will be easily folded, deflated, taken apart, etc. in order to easily move it. The product solves the problem people have when moving and allows for easy sale without having a physical store and low shipping costs.

Lucas,
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have only moved once in my life, I can definitely appreciate this opportunity. After countless times of helping other family/friends move and picking up furniture from various retail locations, I believe this idea creates value for potential customers. For example, many military families move frequently. Furniture that can be easily transported or is already assembled will definitely be an attractive product for them. In addition, being an exclusive online retailer will cut costs in half. Great thought.
Lucas,
ReplyDeleteThis is it chief. After moving houses many times, I can definitely appreciate this opportunity and see it as a very viable one at that. Many people have the need for easy and movable furniture, and these types of furniture can only be of positive use because of the wide market for movable furniture. The only downside I can think of is that the market of movers would certainly take a blow from this invention, but either way it is a very viable opportunity.
What a great idea! I have moved many time sin my life and the struggle exists, especially with moving furniture. I really enjoyed how you have thought even about the distribution and storage of the product, it is a step in the right direction, because I fell most people have an idea, but haven't thought about the execution of their idea.I already know this would be a huge hit, because I am already thinking about it being in my dorm!
ReplyDeleteHey Lucas,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a really good idea considering how many people are constantly changing their living situations for school. Personally I have dealt with this issue many times whether it is me or some one I am helping move. I would love to see some sort of furniture company that takes easy movement into consideration. Overall great post!
